Support Nordic utility grids with cable applications
Are you motivated by working close to utility networks and the energy transition? As Product Applications Engineer Utilities, you will support customers, sales, and R&D with technical application knowledge for medium- and high‑voltage cable systems. You will contribute to new product development, sustainability, and customer solutions across the Nordic region as part of a global organization. The role combines stakeholder interaction, engineering judgment, and market insight. Are you interested in shaping how cable solutions are applied within modern power grids?
In this position, you work as a technical partner for utilities and internal stakeholders, translating grid requirements into product and application input for R&D and commercial teams. You contribute to product roadmaps, new product development, and customer‑facing technical support, with a clear focus on cable systems and distribution networks. The role requires collaboration across functions and an understanding of the grid from the perspectives of manufacturers, grid owners, and installation companies.
The position reports to the Head of TSE, Distribution, and is part of Distribution R&D & Product Development. Falun is the preferred location. However, this role can be remote within Sweden, with regular presence in Falun (initially more frequent, later approx. once every two weeks). Travel across the Nordics occurs occasionally.
You work in a structured and cooperative way and enjoy engaging with different stakeholders. You communicate clearly with customers, sales, R&D, and external partners, and you handle technical discussions with professional clarity. You are comfortable working while staying connected to a wider team. You show consideration for different perspectives and build trust through reliable follow‑up and sound technical judgment.
NKT is committed to developing a diverse organization and culture where people of diverse backgrounds can grow and are inspired to do their best. We have high ambitions on establishing gender diversity at NKT and encouraging all interested candidates to apply – even if you don’t tick all the boxes described. We believe that a diverse organization enables long-term performance, and that an inclusive and welcoming culture creates a better work environment.
