Job summary

Senior Material Europe, AB is seeking a Process Assistant Engineer to support daily operations and continuous improvement of separator coating processes at our Sweden factory. You will work with Production, Quality, Equipment and R&D teams to improve process stability, product quality and efficiency.

The role emphasizes hands-on manufacturing work, data-driven decision making and cross-functional problem solving in a modern production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, materials science, manufacturing or another relevant field.
• At least 1 year of relevant industrial or manufacturing experience.
• Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Interest in process development, production technology and continuous improvement.
• Good communication and coordination across functions.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends and support fact-based technical decisions.
• Hands-on approach in a production environment.
• Good English communication skills in an international setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily maintenance and optimisation of separator coating processes (slurry, coating, slitting).
• Provide technical support to Production and troubleshoot process parameter issues.
• Collect, organise and analyse production data and key process parameters; identify trends.
• Assist in process validation and DOE trials; evaluate parameter impacts on performance.
• Participate in quality investigations using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram and FTA.
• Develop and verify PDCA actions and effectiveness.
• Support new product trials, slurry and raw material validation, and process verification.
• Follow up on trial production and analyse relevant process and quality data.
• Collaborate with Equipment Engineers to assess how equipment affects quality and improvements.
• Prepare and maintain SOPs, parameter sheets, work instructions and validation reports.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Equipment and R&D to resolve issues and improve processes.
