Are you an experienced Process Engineer with deep expertise in thin film processes within the semiconductor industry? Do you enjoy solving complex manufacturing challenges, driving process improvements, and working hands‑on in a high‑tech production environment? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a talented Process Engineer to join our Process Engineering team and play a key role in developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for advanced optoelectronic semiconductor products.

About The Role

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for sustaining and continuously improving manufacturing processes within your area of expertise. You will work closely with production, maintenance, R&D, process integration, project management, and external suppliers to ensure high product quality, robust process performance, and efficient manufacturing operations.

The role requires a proactive and hands‑on approach, combining process ownership, technical problem‑solving, process development, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
Process Ownership
  • Own and maintain manufacturing processes within the designated area.
  • Ensure processes meet production, quality, and development requirements.
  • Support wafer manufacturing and process‑related activities.
Process Monitoring and Improvement
  • Monitor process performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish and utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) where appropriate.
  • Analyze process data and drive yield, productivity, and quality improvements.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Process Development & Qualification
  • Develop and qualify new processes and process improvements.
  • Design and execute experiments, test plans, and process evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Process Integration Engineers on product qualification plans.
  • Ensure process capability through data‑driven analysis and validation.
Equipment & Technology Development
  • Lead evaluations and investments in new process tools and technologies.
  • Assess equipment vendors and emerging process solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and business cases to support decision‑making.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and technical reports.
  • Train technicians and production personnel on new equipment and procedures.
  • Ensure processes are well documented, standardized, and reproducible.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • MSc or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working in a semiconductor fabrication environment.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Experience driving process improvements in a production environment.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in both Swedish and English.

Highly Meritorious Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience in thin film processing, including:

  • Deposition process PECVD (SiO2, SiNx)
  • ALD (AI2O3, SiNx)
  • Evaporation process development
  • Sputtering process development
  • Knowledge of semiconductor metallization processes
  • Experience with materials such as:
    • Gold (Au)
    • Germanium (Ge)
    • Nickel (Ni)
    • Titanium (Ti)
    • Titanium Tungsten (TiW)
  • Experience with characterization and metrology equipment used for thin film process development and monitoring
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation and analysis
  • Experience with InP‑based optoelectronic semiconductor devices
Working Environment

This position involves spending a substantial portion of your time in a semiconductor cleanroom environment, working closely with manufacturing teams and process equipment.
