Job description

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Engineering Sciences

We are looking for postdoctoral fellows to contribute to several projects related to thermohydraulics and safety of small modular reactors (SMRs). The work will include analysis in support of design and development of large‑scale experimental facilities to be constructed and operated at KTH and Oskarshamn. Different facilities will be designed to address important thermohydraulic phenomena relevant to both water and liquid lead‑cooled SMRs. The work will be a part of national projects supported by the Swedish Energy Agency and has strong links with collaborative projects in Europe.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Doctoral degree in nuclear engineering, experimental and analytical thermohydraulics, or fluid mechanics.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.
  • Knowledge and experience of experimental and analytical investigation of thermohydraulic phenomena of importance for safety of water and lead‑cooled nuclear reactors.
  • Good communication and collaborative skills, capability to work in a team and independently.
  • Motivation and dedication to research work is a very strong merit.
  • Teaching experience is an advantage.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
