Job summary

A leading agricultural university in Sweden is offering a postdoctoral position focused on forest genetics. The successful candidate will develop high-throughput molecular markers and study population genetics in conifers. A Ph.D. in Genetics within the last three years is required along with experience in bioinformatics and genetic mapping studies. This full-time position lasts for two years with a start date in fall 2009.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in Genetics earned not earlier than three years ago.
  • Prior experience with bioinformatics, genotyping, and genetic mapping studies.
  • Publication record in plant QTL genetics/genomics, preferably in conifers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in forest genetics with a focus on developing high-throughput molecular markers.
  • Study population genetics and gene family evolution in conifers.
