Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Sweden is seeking a driven Senior Project Manager to lead our Plants and Civil design team on large-scale energy projects. You will manage scope, cost and schedule while guiding a multidisciplinary team to successful, on-time delivery.

You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, develop execution strategy, monitor risks, and report progress to the Plants Project Management leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project management or a related discipline.
  • Several years of experience in project management within industrial, infrastructure, energy or engineering environments.
  • Fluent in English, both speaking and writing, is required.
  • Strong planning, risk management and budgeting skills with strategic thinking and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Be a driven proactive project manager for Plants and Civil design team, cultivating camaraderie and transparency.
  • Develop and communicate a robust project execution strategy for Plants and Civil scope aligned with Hitachi Energy values; manage risks and changes to achieve on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.
  • Lead the team with continuous open communication and alignment to ensure internal processes are followed for quality in deliverables and milestones.
  • Coordinate cross-functional cooperation and gather input for Plants and Civil departments.
  • Follow up and report project/tender progress to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
  • Interface coordination towards platform builders in offshore projects or support civil design teams toward partners/sub-suppliers.

Be the proactive leader that unites our Plants, Civil and Digital Engineering team, bridging Electromechanical, Electrical (Station Auxiliary Power), Civil Design (including auxiliary systems), BIM, LCI (Life Cycle Information) and Digital Twin, both internally but also towards external stakeholders. Take the lead in managing scope, cost, and time while guiding the team to the finish line. Tackle exciting challenges together with the multidisciplinary teams, stay ahead of the game, grow in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment and have fun along the journey. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the center of large-scale energy projects, and you will report to Line Manager of Plants Project Management. You will be working with a tender or a project along with an appointed plants team, close to Plants Lead Engineer and Project Engineering Manager, as well as having interactions with all other relevant internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead the team with continuous open communication and alignment to ensure the internal processes are followed to ultimately achieve the desired quality in the short-term and long-term deliverables and milestones.
  • Continuous cross functional cooperation, collaboration and coordination for needed input for Plants and Civil departments.
  • Follow up and report the project and/or tender progress to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
  • Interface coordination and performing specific tasks towards our platform builders (in offshore projects) or support our civil design team towards civil partner/sub supplier.
Your background
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project management or a related discipline.
  • Several years of experience in project management within industrial, infrastructure, energy or engineering environments and the ability to balance technical, commercial and project-related priorities.
  • You are an engaged, ambitious, and driven person that thrives in a constantly changing environment and who enjoys collaboration with employees, peers and beyond.
  • Strong skills in planning, risk management and good understanding of budgetary constraints and have a strong sense of responsibility and strategic thinking, and you are comfortable with taking informed decisions for and with your team.
  • Speaking and writing English fluently is required since you will be part of a global team where you will need to communicate with people from all over the world.
  • As a person you have a passion for people and technology, you are strong in decision making and have the right inner drive and self-management skills to take on full responsibility for your scope and deliver on time with quality in a dynamic environment.

Experience from power systems, substations, HVDC, industrial plants or large infrastructure projects is considered an advantage.
