Job summary

Wifo is seeking a motivated PhD student to join the Plant Cell Wall Dynamics Lab at Umeå University. The candidate will investigate plant cell wall dynamics using advanced microscopy techniques and contribute to a collaborative research environment.

The position is aimed at obtaining a doctoral degree, with teaching responsibilities possible. Employment will start in September 2026 or upon agreement.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in plant molecular biology and live-cell imaging.
• Experience with Arabidopsis thaliana or comparable model plant systems.
• Good written and spoken English skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant cell wall dynamics and growth responses.
• Participate in collaborative research at Umeå Plant Science Centre.
• Conduct teaching and other departmental duties (up to 20%).
