Job summary

Högskolan i Halmstad seeks a PhD student in Innovation Sciences focusing on Innovations in Energy and Environment. The chosen candidate will work on the Smart Renewable Energy Systems project to improve energy flows for SMEs.

This role involves an interdisciplinary approach, combining innovation science, energy technology, and computer science. Responsibilities include mapping value creation potential and developing simulation models using SME data.

Fluency in English and Swedish, with a Master’s degree in a relevant field, is required. The employment is for 2 years, aiming for a Licentiate degree with the potential for additional funding for a full PhD.

Qualifications

• Completed a second-cycle degree in Innovations in Energy and Environment.
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Swedish.
• Experience in digitalization, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Map and describe the value creation potential of Smart Renewable Energy Systems.
• Develop a model using data from SMEs to simulate potential gains.
• Explore the best design for the system and design a proof of concept.
