Job summary

Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg seeks a highly motivated doctoral student to advance sustainable transport and energy systems analysis, focusing on hydrogen storage and distribution within HyLo and TechForH2. The role combines coursework, independent research, and teaching duties as part of a vibrant, interdisciplinary team.

The position offers full funding for four years with the possibility to teach up to 20% and a starting salary of SEK 35,725 per month.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (120 credits) or magisterexamen (60 credits) in a relevant field such as industrial ecology, energy technology, or applied mathematics, with a specialization in energy systems analysis, energy modelling, or life cycle assessment.
• Proven experience with data analysis and programming (GAMS, Matlab, Python or R) is a must, as well as a strong commitment to scientific inquiry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Take courses at an advanced level within the Graduate School of Energy, Environment and Systems.
• Develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally and in writing.
• The position includes teaching on Chalmers' undergraduate level or performing other duties corresponding to 10–20% of working hours.
• The position is part of the TechForH2 competence centre, focusing on hydrogen for transport.
• Time will be dedicated to research and doctoral courses required for obtaining a PhD, including literature reviews, study design, industry interactions, data collection and analysis, and dissemination of results in journals and reports.
