Job summary

Karolinska Institutet invites applications for a Doctoral (PhD) student position in Epigenetics, Bioinformatics and AI focused on Multiple Sclerosis. The PhD project integrates genetic, epigenetic, and clinical data using advanced bioinformatics and AI-based methods to understand MS progression.

The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary, international team within the DDLS program, under supervision by experienced researchers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computational biology, data science, bioinformatics, or related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and R.
• Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks.
• Familiarity with Linux-based software and HPC environments.
• Experience with data-driven life science approaches is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale omics datasets to identify molecular markers.
• Develop and apply statistical methods and interpretable AI models.
• Collaborate with molecular biologists and clinical researchers.
• Contribute to data governance and transparent reporting of results.
