Job summary

Mandaley AB is seeking a Pattern Maker to work across both Malina and Soft Goat brands. You will draft patterns manually and digitally, oversee fittings, and ensure pattern accuracy from concept to final sample.

You will collaborate with Design, PD, and Production, maintain pattern archives, optimize fabric use, and advance pattern-making techniques using Gerber and Clo 3D. Full-time, on-site in Stockholm.

Qualifications

• Experience creating patterns from designer sketches or tech packs.
• Proficient with manual and digital pattern drafting processes.
• Ability to ensure fit across multiple sizes and product categories.

Responsibilities

• Draft patterns manually and digitally for multiple product lines.
• Sew toiles and oversee fittings to ensure pattern accuracy.
• Maintain pattern libraries and document revisions.

Working hours:Full time(100%)

Reports to:Production Director’s for Malina and Soft Goat

Mandaley is looking for a Pattern Maker to work across both brands, Malina and Soft Goat. As a candidate, you must have a wide knowledge and experience in all product categories. In this role, you will lead and elevate the product fit and quality across both assortments, whilst driving collection consistency and innovation.

Areas of responsibility

• Manage the product lifecycle from initial concept through sampling, fittings and to final sample.
• Ownership of category, and decision-making as required
• Owns the Product Fit for all categories and has the ownership to improve fit where it´s needed and to raise concerns where needed.
• Drafting patterns both manually and digitally. Sewing toiles when needed.
• Oversee timelines throughout the development process, ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule and within scope and according to the calendar
• Collaborate closely with Design, PD & Production Dept.
• Contribute to identify key results and key objectives for elevated products
• Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and techniques to enhance pattern-making processes.
• Maintains detailed records of all patterns, including revisions, measurements, and material specifications.
• Creates a well-organized pattern archive for future reference and reusability.
• Develops patterns that minimize fabric waste and reduce costs, contributing to the overall efficiency of the production process.
• Utilizes pattern-making software (eg. Gerber, Clo 3D) to create and adjust patterns, ensuring technological efficiency.
• Balance and manage your time between both Malina and Soft Goat based on their timelines and needs
• Reason with a strategic way of planning ahead and identify solutions.
• Receive and give feedback

Objectives

• Ensure Accuracy of Patterns:Develop precise and accurate patterns based on designer sketches, specifications, or technical drawings to ensure a good fit.
• Optimize Fit and Construction:Create patterns that facilitate an optimal fit for various body types, ensuring comfort, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
• Adapt Designs to Production Requirements:Modify and adjust patterns to meet production constraints, fabric limitations, and budget while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
• Grading for Different Sizes:Ensure that grading works for multiple sizes, ensures consistency in design and fit across a full size range.
• Collaborate Effectively with Designers:Work closely with designers to understand their vision and provide technical expertise to translate concepts into functional patterns.
• Maintain Pattern Quality and Consistency:Ensure that patterns are of high quality, precise, and consistently adhere to design specifications, reducing errors in production.
• Keep Detailed Records of Patterns:Maintain an organized archive of all patterns, revisions, and related documents for future reference, ensuring easy access to pattern history.
• Ensure Compatibility with Fabrics:Account for fabric characteristics (e.g., stretch, drape, weight) when creating patterns to ensure the product aligns with design intentions.
• Support Prototyping and Fittings:Collaborate with PD and Design at fittings to make necessary adjustments to patterns, ensuring the final garment meets design specifications.
• Stay Current with Industry Trends and Techniques:Continuously improve knowledge of emerging pattern-making tools, software, and industry trends to stay competitive and improve efficiency.
• Provide Technical Support to Design Teams:Offer guidance to Design for technical solutions and how the design can be improved regarding fit and design to improve production costs.
• Ensure Compliance with Quality Standards:Create patterns that adhere to company and industry standards for quality, durability, and consistency.
