SEGULA Technologies in Gothenburg is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to contribute to electrical platform development for Volvo Bus products. You will work on installation design, 3D packaging, and harness production support, coordinating with engineering teams and manufacturing.

The role requires strong Saber and CATIA V5 skills, electrical engineering background, and English proficiency. It offers a full-time permanent position with relocation support and professional development

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is looking for an experienced Packaging Engineer to join the Electrical Distribution & Packaging team in Gothenburg. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of the electrical platform for current and future Volvo Bus products, working with both electrical packaging and wiring harness design.

You will be responsible for designing and reviewing installation solutions, supporting electrical component development, and ensuring that packaging and installation activities align with the overall electrical architecture strategy. From schematic layouts to detailed 3D packaging and bundle drawings, your work will play an important role in supporting the production of wiring harnesses for future bus platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who combines technical expertise with attention to detail and enjoys working closely with both engineering teams and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Support electrical component development through packaging and installation design activities.
• Design, develop, review, and approve technical packaging solutions in alignment with electrical architecture strategies.
• Secure the interests of electrical packaging and installation across ongoing and future development projects.
• Develop schematic layouts, bundle drawings, and 3D packaging models for electrical installations.
• Support suppliers by providing installation data required for wiring harness manufacturing.
• Take operational responsibility for daily engineering activities within established processes and procedures.
• Visit the Volvo Buses production facility in Borås when required to support engineering and production activities.
• Propose technical improvements and make decisions regarding engineering adjustments.
• Support and collaborate with junior engineers and other team members.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting electrical component development through packaging and installation design.
• Experience designing, reviewing, and approving technical packaging solutions.
• High level of expertise in Saber for 2D wiring design.
• Senior-level experience using CATIA V5 for routing electrical wiring harnesses and power cables.
• Electrical engineering background.
• High level of commitment and strong attention to detail.
• Experience from the Volvo Group is required.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Desirable

• Experience from Volvo Buses.
• Experience supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
