Every day, our teams push the boundaries of what is technologically possible - from next-generation HPC architectures to exascale supercomputers - supported by world‑class R&D, more than 1,600 patents, and unique end-to-end capabilities spanning hardware design, software engineering, data science and quantum research.

We are a people‑centric, innovation‑driven company, where collaboration spans Europe, the Americas and India. We share a common vision of a responsible and sustainable innovation that delivers concrete impact for our customers.

We are searching for an HPC Field Support Engineer to support a key customer on‑site in Linköping, Sweden.

Role description

In this role, you will work directly from the customer's data centre, supporting the installation, maintenance, and day‑to‑day operation of advanced HPC/AI systems. You will act as the primary interface between the customer and backline support teams, ensuring smooth operations and efficient issue resolution.

You will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of HPC/AI environments, including hardware, system software, and infrastructure support, while developing hands‑on technical expertise.

This is a great opportunity for candidates early in their careers to gain hands‑on experience in hardware support, Linux systems, and HPC environments, while working directly with a key customer in a production setting.

  • Perform hardware maintenance and parts replacement (servers, components, etc.)
  • Deliver Level 1 system software support, primarily in Linux environments
  • Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and basic network‑related issues
  • Act as the interface between the customer and Bull's support teams
  • Support system installations, upgrades, and lifecycle activities
  • Participate periodically in HPC/AI deployments across Europe
  • Ensure high system availability and contribute to continuous improvement of support processes
Skills & Competencies
  • Hands‑on experience with computer hardware (build, repair, maintenance)
  • Good working knowledge of Linux systems
  • Basic shell scripting skills
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and network security
  • Strong technical interest in computing infrastructure and engineering
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical topics clearly
  • Confident working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with customers
  • Problem‑solving mindset with curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Well‑organised with strong attention to detail
Why apply?

This is a great opportunity to develop your hardware and system software engineering skills while gaining hands‑on experience working closely with customer technical teams to maintain high‑end HPC/AI systems.

As part of a comprehensive technical training program, you will receive practical training in system hardware maintenance, HPC cluster management software, and high‑performance storage, helping you build a strong foundation in high‑performance computing environments.
