Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our team on a mission-critical data centre construction project. You will be responsible for overseeing mechanical systems installation and ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the installation of HVAC, chilled water systems, ductwork, and fire suppression systems in accordance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate daily activities and ensure smooth communication between subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and the site management team.
  • Monitor mechanical works progress, resolve technical issues, and escalate risks where necessary.
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure all works are compliant with health & safety standards and building regulations.
  • Track and report progress against project timelines; ensure that any delays or bottlenecks are addressed proactively.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Ensure the implementation of commissioning plans and assist in final testing and handover procedures.
  • Maintain site documentation including permits, inspection records, and daily logs.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical supervision on large-scale construction projects; data centre experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, and other mechanical services.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and direct labour on complex installations.
  • Excellent understanding of HSE practices and compliance procedures.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret design intent.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
