Job summary

Winthrop Technologies is seeking an experienced Mechanical Package Manager for our project team in Skelleftea, Sweden. You will lead mechanical work packages, coordinate site operations with the wider team and ensure delivery within budget and to the required quality.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 7 years in mechanical construction, with a strong track record in large-scale data centre projects and subcontractor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 7+ years in mechanical construction sector
• Strong background managing mechanical packages on large projects
• Experience in scheduling, sequencing and programme management
• Excellent organisational, communication and coordination skills
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and drive project delivery
• Data centre or mission-critical project experience advantageous

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate Mechanical work packages across the project lifecycle
• Oversee day-to-day mechanical site operations with the project team
• Manage site QA/QC and ensure compliance with specifications
• Coordinate project schedules with Planners, PMs, subcontractors and design teams
• Manage subcontractor activities, progress tracking and meetings
• Ensure subcontractor documentation and safety files are up to date
• Attend Site Meetings, Engineering Reviews and Handover Meetings
• Liaise with design team to issue construction information and submittals
• Review drawings and submittals for correct mechanical coordination
• Support commercial by tracking variations and attending meetings
• Issue progress reports to the project team
• Carry out and close mechanical snagging items
• Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues on site

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Package Manager to join our project team in Skelleftea, Sweden. This role will be responsible for managing key Mechanical work packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Manage and coordinate Mechanical work packages across the project lifecycle
• Oversee day-to-day mechanical site operations in conjunction with the wider project team
• Manage site QA/QC processes and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
• Coordinate project schedules with Planners, Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, and design teams
• Manage mechanical subcontractor activities, including progress tracking, manpower levels, and weekly coordination meetings
• Ensure all subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained and up to date
• Attend Site Meetings, Engineering Reviews, Planning Meetings, and Handover Meetings
• Liaise with the design team to ensure construction information and technical submittals are issued in line with programme requirements
• Review drawings, technical submittals, and ensure mechanical systems are coordinated correctly
• Support commercial management by tracking variations and attending weekly commercial meetings
• Issue progress reports to the project team
• Carry out, distribute, and close out mechanical snagging items
• Proactively identify and resolve technical, design, and coordination issues on site

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar discipline
• Minimum 7 years’ experience within the mechanical construction sector
• Strong background managing Mechanical packages on large-scale construction projects
• Experience in scheduling, sequencing, and programme management
• Excellent organisational, communication, and coordination skills
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, installation methodologies, and site operations
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and drive project delivery
• Data centre, industrial, or mission-critical project experience is advantageous
