Job summary

CorPower Ocean AB in Stockholm is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for wave energy to join the mechanical team. You will design mechanical structures and systems for our wave energy converters from concept through to production release, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and field operations.

The role emphasizes end-to-end development, hands-on analysis, and continuous improvement of performance, manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• End-to-end development across multiple projects.
• Knowledge of mooring, gearbox technology, pneumatics, hydraulics, structures.
• Proficient in Creo CAD, Windchill PLM and ANSYS.
• Bachelor or Master in mechanical engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical structures from concept to production release.

• Present design reviews to stakeholders.
• Create technical documentation for verification and certification.

The Role

We are seeking a mechanical design engineer with industrial equipment experience to develop and optimise our wave energy converters. You will be part of the mechanical team and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, testing, supply chain and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Design of mechanical structures and mechanisms from concept to release-for-production
• Perform structural analysis (hand calculation and FEA)
• Present to cross-disciplinary stakeholders during design reviews
• Produce technical documentation for internal use and third-party verification/certification
• Perform failure mode, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA) at module level
• Manage your modules and components to meet performance, schedule and cost targets
• Investigate new solutions to improve performance, manufacturability and reliability
• Interface with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and field-testing teams
• Support and coach more junior engineers
• Support assembly, testing, and pilot installations in the field

Skills and Software

• You have 5+ years of relevant experience from designing mechanical systems & industrial equipment
• You have proven end-to-end development - design, build, test and release - across multiple projects
• You have a broad technical knowledge and genuine interest in the different aspects of machinery and mechanical design. Knowledge of mooring, gearbox technology, pneumatics, hydraulics, structural optimization, fabrication, sensors, and/or electricity generation equipment is qualifying.
• You have experience working with Creo CAD, Windchill PLM and ANSYS for structural analysis (or equivalent tools with willingness to get up to speed)
• You may have a BSc or a MSc. degree in mechanical engineering or related disciplines, but your personality, experience and interest in the field is the most important.
• You are proficient in English, both spoken and written
