Job summary

Prevas Test & Measurement in Lund invites a curious Measurement Specialist to join a small, skilled team delivering test and measurement systems across industries. You will help turn ideas into working solutions from concept to finished product, with the option to work onsite with customers or on projects at the office.

The role spans software, sensors, optics, electronics and mechanics, with emphasis on understanding customer needs, planning projects and communicating clearly.

Qualifications

• MSc in electrical engineering, engineering physics, or equivalent.
• At least three years of work experience or a PhD in a relevant field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Enjoy learning new technologies and applying existing knowledge.
• Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus.

At Prevas Test & Measurement, we are a small team of specialists working on diverse and technically challenging projects across different industries. We develop measurement and test systems that help our customers understand, improve and innovate their products and processes.

We take on anything that can be physically measured. Our projects range from automated test systems for electronics to calibration rigs for the medical industry and inspection systems for nuclear fuel rods.

We have been part of Prevas since October 2023, constituting our own unit specialized in test and measurement technology.

About the Role

As a consultant, you can work onsite with our customers or on projects at our office. We create solutions that help our customers get valuable insights from physical measurements.

As a Measurement Specialist, you will work with the development of test and measurement systems from idea to finished solution.

You will work closely with both customers and colleagues to understand requirements, explore possible solutions and turn ideas into working systems. Depending on the project and your background, your work may involve software, sensors, measurement equipment, optics, mechanics, electronics or other technologies.

Our projects are highly varied, which means that you will have the opportunity to explore different technologies and industries. You might work with optical measurements or laser technology in one project, and sensor integration, signal processing or automated testing in another.

The role is not only about technology. Good solutions start with understanding the problem. You will have an important role in communicating with customers, translating their needs into technical requirements and contributing to planning and delivering projects.

About You

You are curious about how things work and enjoy solving complex problems. You have a strong analytical and technical foundation and like turning ideas into practical solutions.

Your background could be in physics, engineering physics, optics, laser technology, nuclear physics, electrical engineering or another relevant technical or scientific field.

You enjoy working together with people and are comfortable communicating your ideas and understanding the needs of others. You may already have experience working with customers, requirements, project planning or coordinating technical work – or this may be something you would like to develop further.

We are looking for someone who ...

• … has an MSc in electrical engineering, engineering physics, or equivalent.

• … has at least three years of work experience or a PhD in a relevant field.

• … has a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

• … enjoys learning new technologies and applying existing knowledge in new ways.

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:

• Measurement systems and instrumentation

• Optics and laser technology

• Nuclear physics

• Sensors and signal processing

• Software development

• Test and automation

• Requirements management or project coordination

Experience with Python, C++, LabVIEW or similar tools is also a plus.

Prevas Test & Measurement (formerlyDVel) specializes in hardware test automation at our office in central Lund. We offer consulting services and/or deliver complete measurement systems and test rigs. Our projects are highly diverse, and our customers exist within several different industries. At present, we have 30 employees and look forward to growing with your addition.

As of October 2023, we became a part of Prevas. We are a business unit within Prevas South and will continue to provide expertise in test and measurement.
