Job summary

Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg seeks a research engineer to support world-class research in materials science. You will assist Master’s, doctoral students and staff by maintaining and operating advanced laboratory equipment and systems.

The role includes coordinating with suppliers, purchasing consumables and devices, assisting with invoicing for external users, and ensuring compliance with work environment legislation. This is a temporary position for up to one year.

Qualifications

• A university degree, or equivalent qualifications, in a relevant technical field.
• Knowledge of electrics, electrical installations, or digital electronics.
• the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
• Good communication skills in both Swedish and English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate advanced research instruments and support equipment.
• Coordinate with suppliers Service organisations and assist with invoicing for external users.
• Procure consumables and electronic devices for the lab.
• Ensure compliance with applicable work environment legislation within your area of responsibility.
• Provide operational and technical support for laboratory equipment to Master’s, doctoral students, postdocs and staff.
