Job summary

Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg invites applications for a research engineer to support Masters and PhD students, postdocs and staff by operating and maintaining advanced characterization equipment and related systems.

You will coordinate with suppliers, handle purchasing of consumables, assist with invoicing for external users and ensure compliance with work environment legislation within your areas of responsibility, contributing to sustainable research.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant technical field.
• Knowledge of electrics, electrical installations or digital electronics.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
• Good communication in Swedish and English.
• Knowledge of mechanics, compressed air systems, cooling systems and gases.
• Experience from materials science or laboratory environments.
• Experience supporting computers and electronic devices.

Responsibilities

• Support operation and maintenance of advanced characterization equipment and related systems for researchers and students.
• Provide maintenance support for instruments, liaise with suppliers and service organisations, and assist with purchasing consumables and devices.
• Ensure compliance with applicable work environment legislation within areas of responsibility.
