Job summary

Cytiva in Sweden is seeking a Master level applicant for Base Matrix Design R&D in Polymer/Organic chemistry. You will contribute to synthesis work in lab scale and help develop disruptive products used in biologics manufacturing.

You will independently plan tasks, perform resin development work, and report results clearly while adhering to Cytiva policies. Swedish and English are used for daily communication, and the team values curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on experimentation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry or closely related field.
• Hands-on experience with polymer/organic synthesis is preferred.
• Ability to present data clearly in written and oral form.

Responsibilities

• Perform synthesis work in resin development and some analytical characterization.
• Plan and execute tasks independently to meet project goals.
• Troubleshoot problems in project work and document results clearly.
• Adhere to Cytiva policies and guidelines in all tasks.

Typical products developed from the department are chromatography resins and other consumables used in BioPharma manufacturing. We are now looking for a Master level applicant ( Base Matrix Design R&D) within the field of Polymer/organic chemistry. You will, as part of R&D, contribute to the development of disruptive products which are used in the manufacturing of leading biological drugs.

What You’ll Do

This position has a strong focus on synthesis work in lab scale and hence the person suited for this opening should enjoy working in a chemistry lab.

• Perform experimental work within the area of Organic and Polymer chemistry in resin development, including some analytical characterisation
• Independently plan and accomplish given tasks, to reach given project objectives
• Independently solve problems of "trouble shooting character" in project work
• Document and report results both orally and in a written form
• Conduct all tasks within the framework of Cytiva policies and guidelines

• Hands on experience working with polysaccharides or polymers are a plus

• Good reporting skills (oral and written form)
• Good interpersonal skills
• English and Swedish as working languages
