Job summary

Swedish Match in Gothenburg is seeking a Manager Technical Stream Oral to lead innovation and product development from concept to commercialization of next generation oral nicotine products. You will translate consumer insights into technically feasible solutions, manage cross-functional teams, and align development with IP, regulatory, and supply chain requirements to ensure timely launches.

Qualifications

• MSc or equivalent degree in a related scientific field.
• Minimum 5 years leading complex cross-functional innovation or product development projects.
• Strong technical and scientific expertise in product, process, or technology development.
• Proven project management skills to deliver multiple priorities.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation and product development from concept to launch, meeting technical, consumer, and commercial objectives.
• Translate consumer and commercial needs into technically feasible and commercially viable product solutions.
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive product development and ensure launch readiness.
• Align technical development with IP, regulatory, and supply chain requirements to reduce project risks.
• Define product and technology scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for product development projects.
• Lead cross-functional project teams involving R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Commercial functions.
• Evaluate new product concepts from exploration of new technologies and early development and enable transfer to product development stage.
• Translate consumer insights and market requirements into product development initiatives.
• Drive project execution through stage-gate development processes from ideation to launch.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans throughout project delivery.
• Build strong stakeholder alignment and ensure clear communication across global teams.

Skills & Capabilities

Must-Have

• MSc or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Food Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field.

• Strong technical and scientific expertise in product, process, or technology development.
• Proven project management skills with the ability to deliver multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to translate consumer needs into technical solutions and product requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Strategic thinking combined with strong analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working in multinational or matrix organizations.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience from FMCG, consumer goods, food, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or related industries.
• Knowledge of intellectual property, regulatory requirements, and product commercialization processes.
• Swedish language skills.
