About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Machine Learning Engineer to develop and deploy AI solutions for automotive applications running on Infineon Automotive microcontrollers.

In this role, you will collaborate with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, systems engineers, and embedded software teams to bring machine learning capabilities to safety-critical automotive systems. You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and deploying machine learning models for resource-constrained environments, enabling intelligent sensing, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, driver monitoring, vehicle diagnostics, and other advanced automotive use cases.

The ideal candidate combines strong machine learning expertise with a solid understanding of embedded systems, automotive software development, and real-time constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, train, validate, and optimize machine learning models for automotive applications on Infineon microcontrollers such as AURIX™, Traveo™ and PSOC™.
  • Work with sensor, system, and application experts to identify suitable AI approaches for customer problems.
  • Collect, analyze, and preprocess automotive sensor and system data, define data collection and labeling strategies, and develop validation methodologies that ensure robust machine learning model performance under real-world operating conditions.
  • Support customers and internal teams in identifying and evaluating AI use cases and develop proof-of-concepts, demonstrations, and customer reference implementations demonstrating the value of Edge AI in automotive systems
  • Participate in customer workshops, technical presentations, and solution reviews.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of supervised learning, unsupervised learning, time-series analysis, signal processing, and deep learning fundamentals.
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, ONNX, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Experience deploying machine learning models on resource-constrained devices incl. knowledge of TinyML, model quantization, model compression, feature engineering, and real-time inference optimization.
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python
  • Familiarity with RTOS concepts, performance profiling, and automotive-grade microcontrollers.
  • Proactive self-starter who takes ownership, contributes to strategic discussions, adapts to evolving priorities, and helps shape the future of our products.
  • Collaborative and independent engineer who maintains high programming standards while supporting colleagues and ensuring customer success.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of automotive electronics and software architectures.
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and automotive development processes.
  • Experience integrating software in safety-critical or real-time systems is desirable.
  • Experience with automotive radar, inertial sensing, acoustic sensing, motor control, battery management systems, or industrial sensing applications.
What we offer:
  • The opportunity to further develop our development platform, responsible for bringing deep learning to the edge
  • Being a part of an excellent international team with highly motivated individuals striving for a common goal
  • A chance to be a part of solving real-world problems using ML
