Job Summary

Linux Engineer in the Infrastructure Department of GKN Aerospace Sweden, based in Trollhättan. Responsible for the development, maintenance, and administration of Linux (Red Hat) systems and related hardware across the Swedish site and globally, supporting both infrastructure and application services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Linux Red Hat based systems to agreed SLA.
• Deploy industry best‑practice approaches and standards.
• Participate in implementation and refresh projects.
• Automate IT infrastructure delivery.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve problems within the Linux environment.
• Coordinate with hardware and software vendors to resolve technical support issues.
• Manage key processes: Event Management, Incident Management, Change Management, Request Management, and Asset & Configuration Management.

Qualifications

• Relevant IT degree or equivalent experience.
• Self‑driven with a motivation to deliver best‑in‑class services to the business.
• Experienced Linux engineer, preferably within a medium to large company.
• Proficient communication skills in English and Swedish, both verbal and written.
• Collaborative team player.
• Open to learning new things and taking on new challenges.
• Subject to security clearance requirements as per current regulations.
