Job summary

Uppsala University invites applications for an Associate Professor in Biochemistry specialising in Protein Biochemistry. You will help strengthen the research and education in the Department of Chemistry for Life Sciences at Uppsala University.

The Biochemistry group conducts research on the chemical and molecular principles governing proteins, with emphasis on structure, dynamics, interactions, and catalytic mechanisms.

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry or closely related area.
• Strong publication record in experimental protein biochemistry.
• Teaching experience at university level in biochemistry with ability to teach in Swedish/English.
• Experience leading a research group and obtaining external grants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent internationally competitive research in biochemistry and protein biochemistry.
• Lead teaching at multiple degree levels in biochemistry and related areas.
• Develop courses, supervise doctoral students, and contribute to department administration.
• Collaborate across biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, and related fields.
