Job summary

AFRY Automotive in Sweden seeks a Lead Engineer to drive technical development for next-generation commercial vehicles. Based in the Stockholm region (Stockholm or Södertälje), you will coordinate activities across the product lifecycle and work with leading customers in automotive and defense sectors.

You will mentor junior engineers, translate complex challenges into actionable plans, and collaborate with designers, PMs, and specialists to ensure high-quality deliveries.

Qualifications

• Several years of product development experience in manufacturing industry.
• 4–5 years of experience from the automotive sector.
• Relevant university or engineering degree (e.g., mechanical engineering, product development or similar).
• Very good Swedish and English (spoken and written).
• Swedish citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical development activities across the product lifecycle
• Collaborate with designers, project managers and other specialists to ensure high-quality deliveries
• Deliver clear, implementable solutions by translating complex technical challenges into actionable plans
• Participate in projects in AFRY’s internal delivery organization or at customer sites
• Mentor and develop younger engineers and strengthen the team’s capabilities
