Job summary

Cler is seeking a Lead Embedded Software & Automation Engineer to design and develop automation and validation platforms. The role emphasizes hands-on development, collaboration with hardware and cloud teams, and leading best practices across embedded software engineering.

You will design test platforms, automation, and validation systems to accelerate innovation and improve product robustness, aligning with Cler's values of Humble, Curious, Hungry, and Bold.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in embedded systems and automation.
• Programming experience in C/C++/Python.
• Experience with PLCs, sensors and industrial automation.
• Experience with common peripheral buses and protocols (e.g. SPI, I2C, UART, Modbus RTU).
• Experience with cellular IoT (LTE-M/NB-IoT) and Wi-Fi, MQTT, TLS/device certificates, OTA firmware updates, device provisioning, and remote diagnostics.

• Design and develop automation and embedded systems.
• Design and conduct acceptance tests for automated systems.
• Lead software engineering best practices across embedded development: VCS, code reviews, CI/CD, automated testing, releases.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and cloud engineers for seamless integration.

• Design and conduct acceptance tests for automated systems.
• Lead and take responsibility for software engineering best practices across our embedded development: version control, code review, CI/CD, automated testing, and release management.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and cloud engineers to ensure seamless integration between different layers of the system.
• Manage automation suppliers and support industrialization.

What you will bring:

Must Have

• 5+ years in embedded systems and automation.
• Programming experience (C/C++/Python).
• Experience with PLCs, sensors and industrial automation.
• Experience with common peripheral buses and protocols (e.g. SPI, I2C, UART, Modbus RTU)
