Job summary

Embark Studios in Sweden is seeking a Senior/Lead Economy and Engagement Designer to craft deep engagement systems, monetization features, and live service mechanics that deliver real value to players.

You will lead cross‑disciplinary collaboration with directors, production, and marketing to refine concepts, prototype features, and set scope, timelines and KPIs, while mentoring junior designers and potentially taking on managerial responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in economy or live-service design roles.
• Strong understanding of acquisition, retention, and monetization.
• Experience with AAA gameplay and player psychology.
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine; Blueprints and scripting experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implementation and evaluation of monetization strategy with data analysis.
• Understand player motivations and tie to game loops for engagement.
• Own in-game store including catalog and pricing for microtransactions.
• Collaborate with marketing, acquisition and CRM for the user journey.
• Lead stakeholder in game frontend for engagement and economy features.
• Design metagame, progression and economy systems for retention.
• Analyze game changes to identify monetization opportunities.
• Define KPIs related to monetization and share trends.
• Monitor monetization trends to identify best practices.
