Job summary

Karolinska Institutet in Solna invites applications for a Research Assistant – laboratory assistant to support lab operations and organization. The role includes managing stock, procurement, delivery registration, and invoice processing, while ensuring compliance with KI rules.

The successful candidate will train new staff, maintain equipment, and contribute to a well-ordered research environment in a multidisciplinary setting at Science for Life Laboratory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable education in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields.
• Highly responsible, service-oriented, organized, meticulous, and flexible with very good organizational skills.
• Ability to switch quickly between tasks in a busy environment.
• Social, helpful, and able to work in an international workplace with Swedish and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily lab operations to ensure optimal function and stock inventory.
• Handle ordering and procurement following agreements and KI rules.
• Receive, unpack, and register deliveries in databases; ensure discounts on orders.
• Process invoices in UBW and maintain instrument and equipment functionality.
• Train new lab personnel in instrument use and lab safety; organize cleaning days.
