Job summary

Deploja is looking for a senior Java consultant to join our consulting team. You will work with Java 10+ and the Spring stack to architect and deliver cloud-native microservices, REST APIs, and data access layers across relational databases.

Expect a mix of client work and internal projects, with emphasis on scalable design, testing, and secure service integration. We value deep architectural knowledge, strong collaboration, and the ability to guide teams through complex trade-offs.

Qualifications

• Must-have: Java 10+ with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and REST API/microservices design.
• Experience with Spring Data JPA / Hibernate, SQL databases, and batch processing.
• Proficient in API security (OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect / JWT) and testing (JUnit/Mockito/Testcontainers).
• Proficient with Maven or Gradle, Git/CI-CD, Docker and Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployment.
• Strong architectural knowledge: define target architecture, guide complex design decisions, and enable telemetry through logging/monitoring.

Job description

We now have a new requirement and are looking for a consultant colleague with the qualifications listed below. The position is part of our consulting business, which means you will be employed by us and work either with clients or on internal projects and assignments.

Your Profile (Must-have Requirements)

• Strong experience with Java 10+
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework
• REST API and microservice design
• Spring Data JPA / Hibernate
• SQL and relational databases
• Batch processing, preferably Spring Batch
• Experience designing lookup and routing services
• API security using OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect / JWT
• Unit and integration testing using JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, or equivalent
• Maven or Gradle
• Git and CI/CD
• Docker and containerized applications
• Kubernetes and cloud-native deployment
• Strong architectural knowledge, including the ability to define target architecture, evaluate trade-offs, establish design principles, and guide the team in complex architectural matters
• Logging, monitoring, metrics, and distributed tracing

Meritorious

• Experience with large-scale customer or platform migrations
• Designing systems that support old and new application stacks simultaneously
• Customer identity/identifier mapping and resolution
• Migration-state management such as NOT_MIGRATED, MIGRATION_IN_PROGRESS, MIGRATED, and failure/rollback scenarios
• Event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka
• Redis or similar caching technologies
• Azure/AWS cloud platforms
• API gateways and traffic-routing solutions
• High-volume batch data processing and reconciliation
