Job summary

Telenor IoT in Karlskrona, Sweden is hiring a Test Lead / Test Specialist to shape our software quality strategy, drive automated testing, and raise reliability across IoT platforms. You will lead testing activities, mentor teams, and champion modern QA practices, including AI-assisted test design.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on testing, working with Developers, Product Owners, Architects, and DevOps, in a hybrid setup under the Head of Software Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent relevant education or professional experience.
• Several years of software testing, quality assurance, or software development experience for complex software solutions.
• Proven experience leading or coordinating testing activities, defining test strategies, managing defect workflows, and reporting quality metrics in agile environments.
• Strong understanding of testing at all levels: unit, integration, API/contract, end-to-end, performance and regression.
• Experience with automated testing tools and CI/CD integration (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Experience testing distributed architectures, microservices, cloud-native solutions (preferably AWS) and REST/event-driven APIs.
• Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define, drive, and implement risk-based test strategies and test scopes for products and initiatives, including estimation and planning for agile teams.
• Analyze requirements to design, maintain, and execute comprehensive test suites (functional, integration, system, end-to-end, exploratory, regression).
• Drive early finding testing practices; collaborate to design, implement, and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Investigate, document, prioritize, and track defects across their lifecycle with root-cause analysis support for developers.
• Contribute to robust test environments, fixtures, and realistic test data; act as QA SME across Software Engineering.
