Job summary

Clear Street in Sweden seeks an iOS Engineer to join the Swedish Engineering team. You will help build Clear Street's mobile platform, delivering seamless access to technology and services.

You will work with partners to design and implement new mobile solutions, integrating with backend services and ensuring a superior user experience. The role focuses on iOS development, with exposure to backend services, data, and infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of hands-on iOS development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit.
• Experience integrating apps with REST backends.
• Strong attention to detail in design and user experience.
• Experience in production monitoring and modern tooling.
• Interest in learning new technologies and working independently.

The Team

We started with a small group of experienced engineers and the team has significantly increased in size to a team of 30+ with plans to continue to grow. The team was formed to execute on Clear Street’s growth strategy of expanding our products and services to reach more asset classes and geographies. We work closely with engineering and product teams based in New York.

Members of the team have the unique opportunity to be part of a growth journey, building a technology stack from scratch, and making a big impact on the financial market. In this role, an individual will work in conjunction with team members in Sweden and NY to build applications for our Securities Finance and Futures businesses, the Execution Management, Risk as well as Custody and Clearing systems.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled iOS Engineer to join our Swedish Engineering team. You will play an important role in building Clear Street's mobile platform, designing and developing applications that deliver seamless access to our technology and services.

In this role, you will work closely with our business partners to design and implement new mobile solutions, integrate with backend systems, and ensure a world-class user experience. While your primary focus will be iOS development, we value engineers who are comfortable working end-to-end, with exposure to backend services, data, and infrastructure.

You Bring

• At least one (1) year or more of hands-on professional experience developing and maintaining iOS applications with high requirements on performance, usability, and reliability.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Swift and experience with SwiftUI and UIKit.
• Experience integrating apps with REST collaborating with backend teams.
• A strong eye for detail, with a focus on design, consistency, and user experience.
• Experience supporting and monitoring production applications using modern tools.
• Motivation to learn, curiosity to explore new technologies, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of the financial markets, the different asset classes, and the unique technical requirements in building financial systems is valued.
• Experience mentoring others or leading initiatives is considered an advantage
• Experience in troubleshooting system performance and take corrective action as necessary.
• Experience in supporting and running systems in a production environment.
• Nice to Have: CI/CD for mobile (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions), App Store deployment and release management and automated testing (XCTest, snapshot testing)

Tech Stack

• Required experience in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Xcode, REST APIs
• Preferred, but not required, experience in Clear Street technology Stack: Golang, Python, React, AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Docker, While the experience with these technologies is not necessary, readiness to learn this stack is required.
