Job summary

HARTING Technology Group is seeking an Innovation Engineer for its Innovation Hub in Göteborg, Sweden. You will lead early-phase projects from concept to prototype, collaborating across disciplines and shaping technology around IoT, AI, and automotive systems.

The role emphasizes interdisciplinary teamwork, international environments, and responsible project execution with Lean Start-up, design thinking, and SCAMPER methods.

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD/BSc (or equivalent) with relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial economics, or similar.
• Proven experience in product development and early-phase innovation.
• Project management experience (sub-projects in large companies acceptable).
• Ideally automotive background, but highway, industrial automation or energy systems also valuable.
• Strong communication skills in Swedish and English; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, develop, and drive innovation projects from business case to prototype (TRL 5-6).
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including universities and research institutes.
• Communicate ideas effectively through images, texts, and logical flows.
• Transition projects to product development for industrialization and market launch.
• Work transparently and inclusively, sharing information and engaging teams.

Are you passionate about driving innovation from concept to prototype? HARTING Technology Group is seeking a dynamic Innovation Engineer to join our Innovation Hub in Göteborg. You’ll play a key role in initiating and executing early-phase innovation projects, collaborating across disciplines, and shaping the future of technology in the automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate, develop, and drive innovation projects from business case to prototype (TRL 5-6)
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including universities and research institutes
• Communicate ideas effectively through images, texts, and logical flows
• Transition projects to product development for industrialization and market launch
• Work transparently and inclusively, sharing information and engaging teams

• Experience with innovation methodologies (Lean Start-up, design thinking, SCAMPER)
• Familiarity with CAD, 3D-printing, simulations/analysis is a plus
• Experience from project execution with both agile and WF methodologies
• Solutions-oriented and able to look for opportunities and reliable ways forward
