The Global Infrastructure Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the organisation's strategic architecture for Linux-based operating systems, containerisation platforms, Kubernetes services, and cloud-native infrastructure technologies.
The role provides technical leadership across global infrastructure, ensuring Linux and container platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture, cyber security, operational, and compliance requirements.
Working closely with Cloud Engineering, Cyber Security, Infrastructure Operations, Enterprise Architecture, and Application Development teams, the architect establishes standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps that accelerate modern application delivery while maintaining operational stability and regulatory compliance.
The role acts as the global technical authority for Linux operating systems, Kubernetes platforms, container services, and associated automation technologies, enabling the organisation's cloud-first and digital transformation strategies.
This full-time position comes with a permanent contract at our site in Trollhättan, Sweden.
The applicant should be able to gain the right to live and work in Sweden.
Travel to other locations within Sweden as well as in the EU is expected.
The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the current regulations for security protection. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve specific citizenship requirements.
