Job summary

Fortum is seeking a data engineering professional to design, build, and continuously improve data platforms enabling reliable analytics and data-driven decisions across the business. You will work on enterprise-scale pipelines and datasets across multiple domains.

The role offers a hybrid work model with two to three office days per week and the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams in Solna, Stockholm, or Espoo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science or another relevant field.
• Hands-on data engineering experience with Databricks (PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog) and Azure or similar platforms.
• Experience building analytical data models based on stakeholder needs and insights.
• Interest in utilizing AI agents and tools to accelerate development work.
• Good knowledge of Git version control and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Proficient in English; Nordic language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and continuously improve data engineering solutions for reliable analytics.
• Develop key datasets for structured access to insights across topics such as KPIs and customer interactions.
• Monitor data quality, analyze data, and drive improvements with stakeholders.
• Orchestrate multi-task data workflows with country-specific processing.
• Contribute to platform improvements with practical, well-documented solutions.
• Collaborate with business units and other data teams to translate needs into data models.
