Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking two Project Quality Managers for our HVDC project portfolio. You will lead quality activities through the project lifecycle, coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure contract requirements align with our quality system and achieve high customer satisfaction.

You will develop plans, guide teams on quality matters, train staff, and drive a culture of quality and compliance across projects. Travel 10%+ to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical or engineering or quality management.
• Experience leading quality activities in EPC project environments is preferred.
• English fluency both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and follow up a stable quality management system for the project.
• Set up project quality plan, master test plan and other quality documents.
• Plan, organize, lead and monitor all quality assurance and control activities in the project.
• Provide training and auditing process adherence guidance to the team.
• Register and follow up quality risks and ensure mitigations are implemented.
• Derive and share Lessons Learned through HVDC processes and tools.
• Drive the quality culture and ensure compliance with local codes and standards.

The opportunity

We are seeking two Project Quality Managers for our HVDC project business. In this role, you will lead and coordinate all quality-related activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring contract requirements are aligned with HVDC’s quality management system. You will support and guide project teams on quality matters, working closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure project success and high customer satisfaction.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Develop, implement, and follow up a stable quality management system; apply it to the project and support the project team in delivering great results with the right quality
• Setup project quality plan, master test plan and other quality documents based on quality system and analysis of specific contractual quality requirements
• Plan, organize, lead and monitor all quality assurance and control activities in the project
• Enable the team to follow the quality management system. Provide training and auditing process adherence guidance as required
• Register and follow up quality risks in the risk register based on analysis, and ensure mitigations are identified and implement
• Engage the team to do the right thing by deriving, sharing and implementing "Lessons Learned" and ensuring they are fed back to the organization using HVDC business processes and tools
• Create, communicate, and follow up the Master Test Plan hereby managing the interface to multiple stakeholders
• Drive the Quality culture in the project team, ensure the quality and compliance with local codes & standards, law & regulations as applicable for the project

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in technical or engineering or quality management and at least 2 years of practical relevant professional experience in ideally EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) project-based environment
• Good if you have power or energy industry experience
• Ability to lead and support project teams through processes and changes in complex organizations
• Proficient communication skills, collaborating efficiently with the team and effective in creating a trust-based relationships with our customers. English fluency (written and spoken)
• As a person you are driven and curious with a constant focus on quality with an eye for details in all your assignments
• Willingness to travel, as needed 10% and more to project status meetings, construction site and supplier locations. We are open to discuss family friendly set-ups
• Good if you have test coordination experience, ISO9001 knowledge and/or certified auditor is a plus
