Job summary

Metsä Tissue AB in Småland seeks an HSEQ Manager to lead safety, quality, and environmental programs at the Nyboholm (Kvillsfors) plant. You will develop policies, coordinate risk assessments, and drive a culture of safety across the site.

The role reports to plant management and requires strong leadership, Swedish and English proficiency, and experience in HSEQ. The position is based at Smålandsbruken, Nyboholm/Kvillsfors, Sweden.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leadership and ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Excellent knowledge in occupational safety, quality, and environment.
  • Strong communication skills, decision-making, and ability to build a positive work environment.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

About the Role

HSEQ Manager – Metsä Tissue, Småland

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HSEQ policies to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal standards.
  • Support line organisation in conducting risk assessments and identifying and addressing potential risks on the workplace.
  • Support line organisation in conducting safety walks (Safety Walks) and safety talks (Safety Talks) with high quality.
  • Ensure quality controls are performed according to company standards and that the company meets environmental legislation.
  • Lead and coordinate HSEQ training to create a strong and sustainable safety culture within the organisation.
  • Participate in and lead projects to implement new processes and improvements in the HSEQ area.
  • Act as a point of contact with authorities and external suppliers for HSEQ‑related issues.

Additional Information

The position is located at Smålandsbruken in Nyboholm (Kvillsfors) and Pauliström. The HSEQ team consists of 5 members, all reporting directly to the HSEQ Manager. The role is part of the plant's local management group and reports to the plant manager.
