Kintec Global Recruitment is seeking an HSE Advisor to provide day-to-day Health, Safety and Environmental support across Sweden-based projects. Qualifications

Location: Sweden (Projects across the Nordics & Europe; occasional visits to Finnish HQ)

Role Context

Join one of the Nordics' most established technical services and life-cycle solutions providers, delivering mission-critical data centre projects across Sweden and Europe. The HSE Advisor will provide practical, day-to-day Health, Safety and Environmental support across complex construction and MEP projects.

Working closely with the Senior HSE Advisor, Project HSE Manager, Construction Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors, you will help ensure that all project activities are completed safely and in accordance with Swedish legislation, client requirements and company procedures.

You will maintain a strong presence on site, conducting inspections, reviewing work activities and engaging directly with the workforce. The position requires someone who can identify risks, communicate expectations clearly and support project teams in maintaining a proactive safety culture throughout construction, commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day Health, Safety and Environmental support to project and site teams.
  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across all project activities.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks and workplace assessments.
  • Identify hazards, unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviours and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved safe systems of work.
  • Support the preparation, review and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Review subcontractor HSE documentation before work begins.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with project HSE requirements.
  • Support permit-to-work, isolation, lifting and other high-risk activity controls.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness sessions.
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings and project planning meetings.
  • Provide HSE guidance to Site Managers, Supervisors and operatives.
  • Support incident, accident and near-miss investigations.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and the preparation of incident reports.
  • Track corrective and preventive actions through to completion.
  • Maintain accurate inspection, training and incident records.
  • Support emergency preparedness exercises and response planning.
  • Assist with internal, client and regulatory HSE audits.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental requirements, including waste management, spill prevention and pollution controls.
  • Compile weekly and monthly HSE statistics, reports and performance information.
  • Support behavioural safety and workforce engagement initiatives.
  • Share safety alerts, lessons learned and best practices across project teams.
  • Support the safe delivery of construction, testing, commissioning and energisation activities.
  • Escalate significant risks or repeated non-compliance to senior project management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across the company's HSE management systems.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental position within construction, engineering, MEP, industrial or building services environments.
  • Practical experience supporting construction activities on an active project site.
  • Good understanding of construction health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Experience conducting site inspections, workplace assessments and safety observations.
  • Understanding of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Experience monitoring contractor and subcontractor activities.
  • Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and high-risk construction activities.
  • Experience delivering inductions, toolbox talks or safety briefings.
  • Understanding of incident and near-miss reporting processes.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with site personnel, supervisors and management.
  • Strong organisational, documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to identify risks and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and technically complex construction environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HSE reporting systems.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NCRQ, IOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous Data Centre, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, Industrial or MEP construction experience.
  • Experience working on projects in Sweden or elsewhere in the Nordic region.
  • Knowledge of Swedish work environment legislation and Systematic Work Environment Management-SAM.
  • BAS-P or BAS-U training or practical experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and energisation activities.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout and electrical safety procedures.
  • ESA, Heta Arbeten, BAM or similar Swedish safety training.
  • Membership of IOSH, IIRSM or another recognised professional body.
