Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a Global Engineering Manager - HVDC Control & Protection to lead global C&P engineering operations, driving technical excellence, architecture strategy, and delivery across international HVDC projects.

You will lead cross-border teams of electronics, hardware, and software engineers, overseeing design, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle management of C&P solutions with a strong focus on quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

15+ years of professional experience in electronics/control engineering.
10+ years in a functional or line management role within HVDC or large-scale power systems.
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a global team of electronics, hardware, and software engineers.
Oversee design, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle management of HVDC control systems.
Align engineering deliverables with global project execution teams for on-time delivery.
Drive standardization of engineering tools, design practices, and testing methodologies across hubs.
Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Testing Facilities to translate requirements into reliable architectures.
Ensure compliance with international electrical codes, cyber security standards, functional safety guidelines, and grid codes globally.
