Job summary

The Department of Earth Sciences at The University of Gothenburg seeks Teaching Assistants for intermittent hourly employment from November 2026 through April 2027. You will assist with laboratory sections of geography, geology and earth sciences courses, preparing materials, supervising students, and sometimes grading.

Candidates should be current students in the department, have completed GV1410 or GE0400, and possess good Swedish (C1), English, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Good Swedish language ability at C1 level and proficient English.
• Completed Bachelor’s in geography or geosciences; advanced study in Earth Sciences preferred.
• Able to use computers effectively and support laboratory tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory sections for geography, geology and earth sciences.
• Prepare materials, supervise students and support instructors.
• Grade labs and undergraduate assignments; assist with field activities when needed.
• Engage with prospective students as appropriate and help with outreach.
