LKAB in Kiruna seeks a Geophysicist to bridge advanced data processing with practical field operations, including summer fieldwork and winter data analysis.
You will contribute to 3D modelling, interpretation, and collaboration with geologists, geotechnics, and mining teams. The role offers development opportunities and relocation support.
Combine geophysical analysis with hands‑on fieldwork and contribute to mineral exploration in a varied role with excellent opportunities to grow.
The sustainable transformation begins with us.
We are facing our greatest challenge yet – ensuring that Sweden and Europe have what it takes to transform. So that we can live the lives we want, both today and tomorrow. In the same way that we strive to improve the future, we are committed to developing everyone who joins us on this journey, both personally and professionally.
Would you like to be part of laying the foundation for the way we live – and for the world around us?
As a Geophysicist within our Mineral Exploration team, you will bridge the gap between advanced data processing and practical field operations. Your responsibilities naturally follow the seasons—dedicating summer periods to dynamic fieldwork and ground data acquisition and focusing during the winter months on comprehensive data processing, 3D modelling, interpretation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
You will work both independently and together with others. Close collaboration with fellow geophysicists, geologists and field technicians is essential for success in this role, as exploration projects rely on combining different areas of expertise and perspectives.
The varied assignments and opportunities to participate in different projects provide excellent potential to develop within your professional field.
We are looking for a geophysicist who thrives in a dynamic environment where fieldwork, data interpretation and collaboration go hand in hand. You have a structured and solution-oriented way of working, communicate your findings clearly and can translate complex data into valuable insights. You enjoy working closely with colleagues from different disciplines and contribute to a collaborative team environment. You are reflective and thoughtful in your decision-making, with an ability to balance technical opportunities with responsible use of resources to create sustainable and effective exploration solutions.
In addition to the general benefits we offer — which you can find a bit further down — we can also offer the following to those who do not currently live in Sweden:
We strive for a fair and objective recruitment process. Therefore, we usually do not request cover letters. Instead, we ask you to answer questions related to the specific position you are applying for. Your responses help us understand your skills and experience, so please take the time to answer as clearly and thoroughly as possible.
