About the Role

As a Function Architect, you support vehicle software and functional changes early in the development flow, from idea to agreed solution. The role involves close collaboration with internal customers driving changes, system owners, and other impacted stakeholders. You facilitate discussions, define system concepts, and ensure alignment across both technical and non‑technical stakeholders while contributing to a flow‑oriented way of working.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support vehicle software and functional changes early in the development flow, from idea to agreed solution.
  • Work closely with the internal customer, system owners, and other impacted stakeholders.
  • Facilitate discussions to understand required changes, impacts, and affected systems.
  • Create and communicate clear system concepts (e.g., principles, interfaces, messages, consequences).
  • Document agreed solutions in the architecture toolchain.
  • Explain complex topics in a way that supports alignment across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Support a flow‑oriented way of working and promote good practices within the organisation.
Required Qualifications
  • Solid experience from function development, system development, or system ownership in an embedded/vehicle context.
  • Understanding of vehicle/platform complexity and how changes in one area affect others.
  • Good communication skills and ability to create alignment in a group.
Preferred / Meriting
  • Scania experience – highly valuable and sought after.
  • Knowledge of communication topologies such as CAN and/or Ethernet.
  • Experience working in a continuous delivery/change process for embedded software.
