Job summary

Cota Robotics in Stockholm is seeking a hardware design engineer to own the physical robot from concept and CAD through prototyping, 3D printing, and manufacturing at scale, with tests in live stores within weeks.

You will work in a small team at Sankt Eriksgatan, moving fast in an unfinished environment where plans evolve. This founding role offers meaningful equity and fast real-world demonstrations of your designs.

Qualifications

• Attitude first: high agency, you spot the problem and ship the fix without being told.
• A strong track record in hardware design, or an unreasonable appetite to build one.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, unfinished environment where the plan changes.
• Ready for long weeks when it matters and demos that have to work tomorrow.
• Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus.
• You must already have the right to work in Sweden, as visa sponsorship is not available at this stage.
• A founding role with ownership of the hardware.
• Meaningful equity.
• See your designs running in real stores within weeks.

Responsibilities

• Concept and visualize new products and subsystems.
• Model structures, mechanisms and enclosures in CAD.
• Prototype rapidly and iterate from what you see in stores.
• Design for manufacturing and assembly, and take designs through to production.
• Apply solid hardware fundamentals: GD&T, tolerances, tooling, material selection.
• Move fast.
