Job summary

Gedea Biotech AB, based in Lund, Sweden, seeks a strategic Finance & Operations Director to lead financial management, governance, and operational excellence. You will oversee budgeting, reporting, audits and investor relations, while supporting fundraising and strategic business decisions.

In this role you will collaborate with the CEO, board and investors to scale the company responsibly, ensuring financial controls and scalable processes across functions.

Qualifications

• University level education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 6-12 years of relevant experience in finance roles.
• Experience in biotech or regulated industries preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into insights.
• Experience with fundraising and investor relations is a plus.

Gedea Biotech is an innovative biotechnology company dedicated to making a sustainable impact on women’s health with a modern, antibiotic-free treatment for vaginal infections. Based in Lund, Sweden, we combine scientific excellence with a strong commercial vision to bring our novel product to market.

As we prepare and scale for the first commercial launches and further global roll-out with partners, we are seeking a strategic, commercially minded and hands-on Finance & Operations Director (title according to profile and experience) to join our team.

The Role

As Finance & Operations Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the overall financial management, corporate governance and operational excellence of the company.

You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, supporting strategic decision-making, coordinating investor relations and ensuring that the organisation has the operational infrastructure needed to scale efficiently.

This is a key role offering the opportunity to work closely with the CEO, board, and investors in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Leadership

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
• Drive accounting, bookkeeping, cash flow management, financial statements and audits
• Manage capital structure and investor registry
• Support investor relations and communications
• Support and initiate fundraising activities, and due diligence processes
• Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and risk management frameworks

Strategic & Business Partnering

• Support decision-making and commercial roll-out with e.g. commercial roll-out and sales projections, inventory management and supply planning financial
• Partner with the cross-functional team to support projects and operational efficiency
• Support assessments and transactions for new markets, partnerships, and investments/divestments

Operations & Governance

• Drive operations of e.g. procurement, facilities, contracting, IT, Board and investor meetings
• Drive process improvements across functional areas
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, legal, and corporate governance requirements
• Manage external partners such as auditors, legal advisors, and service providers

Qualifications & Experience

• University level education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• 6-12 years of relevant experience, including roles in finance
• Experience in biotech, life sciences, or regulated industries is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of financial management, reporting standards, and compliance
• Experience in fundraising, investor relations, or working with venture-backed companies is a plus
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Experience driving operational efficiency and building scalable processes
