Job summary

Boliden seeks an Exploration Geodata Specialist to develop and maintain our geoscientific data platform, supporting exploration teams across Boliden’s operations.

You will design SQL-based database structures, integrate with GIS and modelling tools, and ensure data quality, traceability and accessibility of exploration data across sites. English fluency and a strong technical foundation are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in geology, geophysics, GIS, geodata management or related field.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of geological/geophysical data and exploration workflows.
• Experience with GIS and spatial data.
• Programming or scripting ability.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve and document SQL-based exploration database structures, views and validation logic.
• Design workflows for geological, geophysical and spatial data.
• Support rollout and development of QDB.
• Develop SQL scripts, import/export routines and automated workflows.
• Integrate databases with GIS, modelling, reporting and analysis tools.
• Support data quality, QA/QC, metadata management and access controls.
• Translate geologists' needs into practical system improvements.
• Test solutions and provide documentation and training materials.
• Collaborate with Geodata, Exploration, GIS users, IT and suppliers.
• Ensure exploration data is reliable, traceable and accessible over time.
