ALTEN’s Cloud & Software Engineering Team is seeking an Experienced Java Backend Developer to build robust, scalable backend services for international clients. You will design cloud-native solutions in AWS and contribute to microservices architectures while ensuring code quality and maintainability.

The role emphasizes collaboration with platform engineers, architects, and product teams, with strong emphasis on delivering reliable, real-time connected services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java (Spring Boot) experience.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native design.
• Nice to have Azure experience.
• Experience building customer-facing systems.
• Familiarity with AWS Lambda and DynamoDB is a plus.
• BSc/MSc in Engineering, IT, or related field.

Are you passionate about building robust, scalable backend systems in cloud environments? ALTEN is looking for an Experienced Java Backend Developer to join a high-performing team delivering business-critical connected services for international clients.

About the team

The team develops and operates a platform that manages connected solutions, enabling real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and over-the-air software updates. The platform processes large volumes of data transmitted from devices, ensuring reliability even during network disruptions.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java
• Build and optimize cloud-native solutions in AWS
• Contribute to scalable microservices architectures
• Ensure high code quality, testability, and maintainability
• Collaborate closely with developers, platform engineers, architects, and product teams

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

• At least 5 years of backend development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot)
• Experience working with AWS
• Azure experience is a strong advantage
• Experience building customer-facing systems
• Experience with AWS serverless services such as Lambda and DynamoDB is considered a plus
• BSc/MSc in Engineering, IT, or a related field

Good to have:

• Knowledge/practical experience from CI/CD and/or DevOps
• Previous experience in connected systems, IoT, or Automotive/Telecom.
