Job summary

Alstom in Hassleholm is seeking a Verification & Validation Engineer to join the Radio Block Centre team within the ERTMS solution. You will translate requirements into test cases, implement tests, and maintain test environments, collaborating with System Engineers, Safety Coordinators and Project teams.

The role emphasizes software quality, safety standards (CENELEC), cyber security awareness, and hands-on testing—manual and automated—across lab and hardware environments, with a focus on

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Interest in HW and SW interactions within complex system architectures.
• Understanding of scripting languages like Bash and Python.
• Good knowledge of UNIX (Linux).
• Experience with railway standards or safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Create test cases from requirements, scenarios and NCRs.
• Discuss test design with System Engineers, Test Coordinator and Safety Coordinator.
• Implement test cases in scripts for automatic test environments.
• Setup and maintain test environments and CI systems.
• Install, update and maintain software on virtual and target hardware.
• Execute tests (manual and automatic) in labs and test environments.
