The role

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead an high-impact team that ships reliable, scalable features fast. You’ll combine people leadership with hands-on technical judgment, and partner closely with Product, UX and newsroom to deliver measurable outcomes for our readers.

What you’ll do
  • Lead a high-performing team delivering scalable features for millions of users.
  • Drive architecture discussions and ensure performance at scale.
  • Review code and champion best practices in quality, testing and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Foster a healthy, efficient, and inclusive team culture where people thrive. Collaborate closely with Product, UX and the newsroom to deliver value quickly and reliably.
  • Mentor engineers at all levels, and champion best practices in software development and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience leading software teams as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or similar role.
  • A track record of delivering user-facing features at scale with strong engineering fundamentals.
  • Comfortable driving architectural decisions, especially with regards to services being able to handle high traffic.
  • Passion for people leadership: coaching, performance, and career growth.
  • Collaborative mindset; you work closely with Product, UX, and newsroom to ship outcomes, not just output.
  • Strong communication in Swedish and English.
