Job summary

Truecaller is seeking an Engineering Manager, Data to lead a multidisciplinary team of ML engineers, data scientists, and data engineers building the retrieval, ranking, and contextual‑bandit systems and the real‑time data infrastructure that powers Truecaller’s recommendations.

You will set direction across an applied‑ML stack, ensure team health and growth, and convert a research roadmap into reliable production systems across hundreds of millions of users.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading ML/engineering teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong track record delivering complex ML systems at scale.
• Hands‑on understanding of backend and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and retain a high‑performing ML/engineering team.
• Set technical direction for ML, ranking, and data platforms.
• Own team planning, prioritisation, and delivery; translate business goals into a technical roadmap.
• Partner with product and other teams to align on strategy and execution.
• Drive experimentation and measured impact of model changes.
