Job summary

Square One Resources is seeking an Engagement Lead to own Target Operating Model design and transformation across operations and finance. The role is remote with international travel to Sweden and requires senior consulting experience.

You will turn complex challenges into prioritized roadmaps, chair steering groups, and engage executive sponsors at board level to deliver transformation programmes.

Job Title: Engagement Lead - Target Operating Model Owner
Location: Remote - Must be able to travel to Sweden 2/3 times over the duration of the contract
Rate: £600-£650 Inside IR35
Start Date: 12/10/26
Contract length - 2 months initially with the potential for it to be extended

We are looking for an experienced Transformation Leader with a strong background in Target Operating Model (TOM) design, business transformation and executive stakeholder management.

This is a senior consulting/transformation role, working closely with executive sponsors and senior leadership teams to shape and deliver operating model transformation across operations and finance. You will be responsible for turning complex business challenges into practical, prioritised roadmaps that organisations can act on.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at board and executive level, leading challenging discussions, facilitating diverse stakeholder groups and maintaining clear scope and direction throughout a transformation programme.

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience in consulting, transformation leadership or a similar senior advisory environment.
• Significant experience in heavy industry or complex industrial environments, preferably.
• A proven track record of designing operating models across both operations and finance.
• Strong credibility with executive sponsors and senior leadership teams, with the confidence to chair steering groups and lead senior-level discussions.
• Experience developing prioritised transformation roadmaps that have been adopted and acted upon by clients.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills, particularly when working with mixed technical, operational and commercial stakeholder groups.
• The ability to manage scope and maintain clear boundaries while responding constructively to client pressure and changing requirements.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate strategic objectives into practical transformation initiatives.
• Nordic or Swedish industrial experience would be an advantage.
