Job summary

Axis Communications AB in Lund seeks an EMC Test and Verification Engineer to own and operate our EMC labs on site at the Lund HQ. You will lead pre-compliance testing, optimize test routines, and serve as the go-to expert for EMC design and verification across Axis hardware products.

You will report to the Engineering Manager Regulatory and collaborate with R&D teams worldwide to ensure compliant, reliable product testing.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent background.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of EMC standards and ability to interpret new requirements.
• Hands-on experience with EMC test setups and equipment.
• Good documentation skills and analytical mindset.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Operate EMC chambers and test systems — manage the machinery, equipment, instruments and tools, keep the labs well organized.
• Maintain instruments and run periodic system tests and sanity checks across our test systems to ensure results we can rely on.
• Perform pre-compliance testing ahead of the compliance testing at the external test houses.
• Assist in fault-finding when needed.
• Handle our test setups — apply specialist knowledge for setup of test equipment and device-under-test, swap between chamber configurations, and act as the go-to person for our instruments.
• Be our main point of contact towards external test houses on general matters, and define how we work together with them.
• Develop and maintain our EMC testing guidelines.

Job Description

We are looking for a specialist in EMC Test and Verification Engineer to take ownership of our EMC labs and test setups. The role is based on site at our headquarters in Lund.

Who is your future team?

You’ll become part of our Regulatory team within R&D in Lund - a group of seven experienced and knowledgeable colleagues who together play a crucial role in enabling Axis hardware products to reach markets globally.

The team is the hub that our R&D projects and colleagues worldwide turn to when it comes to certification and regulatory requirements including EMC design and test strategy for our hardware products. Here, high competence is combined with a helpful and welcoming atmosphere - we’re happy to share our knowledge and enjoy ourselves together along the way.

In this role you are our specialist in EMC testing and verification of Axis products. You manage our EMC labs day to day and are the person colleagues turn to when they have questions about EMC testing. You will report to the Engineering Manager Regulatory.

What you’ll do here as specialist for EMC Test and Verification

Your focus is EMC testing and verification: running our labs, performing pre-compliance tests and improving our test routines.

We’d love to hear that you have/are:

• An engineering degree or an equivalent background
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
• Knowledge of EMC standards, and the ability to analyze and interpret new requirements
• Hands-on experience of EMC test setups and test equipment
• Good documentation skills and an analytical mindset, including comfort with trend analysis
• Fluent in English, spoken and written

Physical demands and travel

This is an on-site role at our Lund campus, with hands-on work in our EMC labs. Limited travel is included, mainly to test houses in Sweden and Denmark.
